Are there specific Duas for exams?
There is not a specific Dua to say for exams to succeed. There was not a Hadith or Quran Aya about exams, as there wasn’t such form of school exams in the past.
However, It is permissible for students to use the general Duas in the field of enriching knowledge, serenity of the heart, guidance and reaching objective, and the like, which achieve success and guidance in answering, recalling information and reaching the rank of excellence. And, here are some of these Duas from Quran and Sunna.
As there is not a specific Dua for Exams. It is not permissible for a Muslim to adhere to a specific Dua and believe it is in Sunnah and persevere in it.
What are the best Duas for exams to repeat
You can repeat any Dua that you wish. I will list some Duas from Quran and Sunnah that were for certain situations, but you can repeat them for the exam’s easiness and success insha’Allah.
Start with Bismillah.
You can also read this suggested Dua from Quran:
﴿ رَبِّ اشْرَحْ لِي صَدْرِي * وَيَسِّرْ لِي أَمْرِي * وَاحْلُلْ عُقْدَةً مِنْ لِسَانِي * يَفْقَهُوا قَوْلِي ﴾
Lord, lift up my heart and ease my task for me. Untie my tongue, so that they may understand my words.
[rabbi ishrah lee sadree Wayassir lee amree Wahlul AAuqdatan min lisanee Yafqahoo qawlee]
Oh Allah, I entrust to you what I have read, memorized and what I have learned, so return it when I need it. You are over all things.
Oh Allah, I entrust to you what I have taught, understood and memorized. Bring it back to me in time of need for it, and do not cause me to forget it, O Light of the heavens and the earth.
These two Duas were not prescribed in Quran or Sunnah, but it’s a suggestion of what you can read.
The following Dua can be repeated in times of difficulty, and it’s okay to repeat it before an exam.
اللَّهُمَّ لاَ سَهْلَ إِلاَّ مَا جَعَلْتَهُ سَهْلاً، وَأَنْتَ تَجْعَلُ الْحَزْنَ إِذَا شِئْتَ سَهْلاً
Allāhumma lā saḥla illā ma ja`altahu saḥla wa anta taj`alu ‘l-ḥazna idhā shi’ta saḥla.
O Allah, there is no ease other than what You make easy. If You please You ease sorrow.
Reference: Ibn Hibban in his Sahih (no. 2427), Hisn al-Muslim 139
When forgetting something
اللهم يا جامعَ الناس في يوم لا ريب فيه, اجمعْ بيني وبين

O Allah, I am Your slave, and the son of Your male slave, and the son of your female slave. My forehead is in Your Hand (i.e. you have control over me). Your Judgment upon me is assured, and Your Decree concerning me is just. I ask You by every Name that You have named Yourself with, revealed in Your Book, taught any one of Your creation, or kept unto Yourself in the knowledge of the unseen that is with You, to make the Qur’an the spring of my heart, and the light of my chest, the banisher of my sadness, and the reliever of my distress.
Reference: Ahmad 1/391, and Al-Albani graded it authentic. Hisn al-Muslim 120

He told that Allah’s messenger used to say when he was anxious “There is no god but God, the Incomparably Great, the Clement; there is no god but God, the Lord of the mighty Throne; there is no god but God, the Lord of the heavens, the Lord of the earth, and the Lord of the noble Throne.” (Bukhari and Muslim.)
