Salah Aljanazah has 4 Takbeer i.e saying Allah Akbar. Between each Takbeer we recite something. Here’s How to pray Janazah Salah and what to say between each Takbeer.
Conditions of Salah Aljanazah
- Must be prayed while standing
- Requires Taraha like any Salah. You should have Wudu or Ghusl before you pray it.

What to say in Salah Aljanazah
This Salah has four Takbeers. Here is what to Say after each one.
After the first Takbeer
Read Surah Alfatiha and any part of a Surah with it silently
After the second Takbeer
Send blessing upon the prophet like at the end of Salah. Which is saying
« اللَّهُمَّ صَلِّ عَلَى مُحَمَّدٍ، وَعَلَى آلِ مُحَمَّدٍ، كَمَا صَلَّيْتَ عَلَى إِبْرَاهِيمَ، وَعَلَى آلِ إِبْرَاهِيمَ، إِنَّكَ حَمِيدٌ مَجِيدٌ، وَبَارِكْ عَلَى مُحَمَّدٍ، وَعَلَى آلِ مُحَمَّدٍ، كَمَا بَارَكْتَ عَلَى إِبْرَاهِيمَ، وَعَلَى آلِ إِبْرَاهِيمَ، فِي الْعَالَمِينَ إِنَّكَ حَمِيدٌ مَجِيدٌ»
After the third Takbeer
Make due for the dead person. You can make any dua you want and here’s an example:
اللَّهُمَّ اغْفِرْ لِحَيِّنا وَمَيِّتِنا ، وَشاهِدْنا وَغائِبَنا ، وَصَغيرَنا وَكَبيرْنا ، وَذَكَرْنا وَأُنْثَانَا ، اللَّهُمَّ مِنْ أَحْيَيْتِهِ مِنَّا فَأَحْيْهُ عَلَى الإِسْلامِ ، وَمَن تَوَفَّيْتْهُ مِنَّا فَتَوَفَهُ عَلَى الْإِيمَانِ ، اللَّهُمَّ اغْفِرَّ لَهُ وَارْحَمَهُ ، وَعَافِهُ وَاُعْفُ عَنْهُ ، وَأَكْرِم نَزَلَهُ ، وَوَسِّع مَدْخَلَه ، وَاغْسِلهُ بِالْمَاءِ وَالثَّلْجِ والْبَرَدِ ، ونَقَهَ مِنْ الخَطَايَا كَمَا يُنَقَّى الثَّوْبُ الأَبْيَضُ مِنْ الدَّنَسِ ، اللَّهُمَّ أَبْدَلَهُ دَارًا خَيْرًا مِنْ دَارِهِ ، وَأَهْلًا خَيْرًا مِنْ أَهْلِهِ ، اللَّهُمَّ أُدْخِلَهُ الجَنَّةَ ، وَأَعْذَهُ مِنْ عَذابِ القَبْرِ ، وَمِن عَذابِ النّارِ ، وَوَسَّعَ لَهُ فِي قَبْرِهِ ، وَنور لَهُ فِيه
Make any Due you would like. This is just an example
After the fourth Takbeer
Make Dua for the whole Muslim Ummah whether alive or dead. Any Dua of your choice.
